3 m high; Tree; Notes: Young tree, 3 m tall. Single, fairly fat stem, smooth, grey. Leaves digitate - 1 to 5 fingers/leaflets, slippery, smooth, floppy leaves.

3 m high; Shrub; Notes: Shrub, 3 m high. Older stems brown, younger ones green, all very stiff and woody. Leaves with 2 leaflets below a spine. Mopane woodland, sandy plain.

Notes: Simple stem about 2 cm in diameter, with short lateral branches low down. Branches very stiff. Stem greenish, stiff succulent. Sessile leaves green, concolorous, in whorls. Spiny. Mopane woodland. Corr. nom.: SR 01.2008.

2.5 m high; Shrub; Notes: Shrub, 2.5 m high. Untidy, with pods. Medium brown stems with conspicuous white lenticels. Flowers on ends of lateral shoots. All branches turning upwards. Leaves held erect, slightly paler below, obovate. Flowers pale pink with a yellow spot in throat. Lean flowers with protruding stamens. Sandy plain. Mixed woodland.

4 m high; Tree; Notes: Tree, 4 m high. Rough, longitudinally fissured bark. Stem, petioles and petiolules hairy. Stems green, flecked with white lenticels. Leaves and leaflets hang down, 1-3 pairs of leaflets and terminal one. 2 large stipules at leaf bases. Thick hairy petioles. Leaflets sometimes opposite, sometimes alternate. Leaves alternate. Sandy plain, Mopane/Terminalia sericea woodland.

20 cm high; Herb; Notes: Ndebele - cook and eat. Herb, 20 cm high. Sell at the markets. Can dry the leaves. Only after rains. Mopane woodland.

4 m high; Shrub; Notes: Shrub 4 m - edge of pan. Young pods. Common in places. Mopane woodland.

Tree; Notes: Shrubby tree, up to 2 m high, with very soft, floppy branches and hanging leaves. Branches reddish brown with white lenticels. Leaves opposite. Milky latex. Bright green. Sandy plain. Mixed woodland.

3 m high; Shrub; Notes: Shrub, 3 m tall. Stems: smooth, light brown with sharp spines. A single sharp spine at base of most leaves. Leaves: circular, velvety. Fruit: a round berry about 5 mm long, with a ring of persistent calyx at apex.

Climber; Notes: Climber, 5 m into a Colophospermum mopane. Pods also 'bulls horn-like', brown with no white markings. Milky latex. Flowers tiny white-cream cups with pointed lips, long calyx lobes behind back. 5 Sepals, dark brownish- green.

Notes: Spiny green leaves curling at tips. Flowers orange with yellow edges to petals.

1.6 m high; Shrub; Notes: Shrub, 1.6 m high. Hibiscus yellow flower. Brown stems.

10 m high; Tree; Notes: Tree, 10 m high. Others were taller. Trunk: very smooth, shiny, silver tinged with bronze. Leaves: clustered terminally, soft, pendulous, velvety, distinctly discolorous, cordate. Herby smell. Rocky hills. Locally common.

Notes: Strangler - whorled stem, very thick and twisting around trees. Can stand alone, up to 80 cm. Undulate large leaves, thick but not leathery - velvety. Milky latex. Mopane woodland, sandy plain.

Tree; Notes: Tree, 6 m high. Single, erect stem. Reddish brown. Leaves concolorous, smooth, soft. Hanging down.

6 m high; Tree; Notes: Tree, 6 m high. Stem: rough, silvery. Leaves: whorled at ends of branches. Leaflets: small. Flowers: small, with 4 creamy petals and 4 stamens, in sprays on a long peduncle, arising away to leaves.

3 m high; Tree; Notes: Tree, 3 m tall. Leaves: long, up to 1.5 m (just the tip sampled). Clusters of oval green fruits on yellow green stalks, hanging down.

10 m high; Tree; Notes: Tree, 10 m high. Dark, rough bark. Open sparse canopy with large pinnate leaves. Young tree with smooth grey stem. On sandy plain. Burkea woodland.

8 m high; Tree; Notes: Tree, 8 m high. A few very green fruit on. Palmate leaves. Discolorous. Burkea woodland.

10 m high; Tree; Notes: Tree, 10 m high. Stem: 4 thin, smooth grey stems, all growing together. Flowers: mauve/lilac. Fruit/seed: new pods reddish/green. Someone has dug a hole around the trunk and the tree is leaning.

160 cm high; Shrub; Notes: Shrub, 160 cm tall, consist of 4 stems, rough, brown, with white lenticels. Milky latex. Leaves lanceolate, discolorous, velvety, especially below. Pods on tip of branch above leaves. Two woody, dehiscent valves.

Tree; Notes: Large tree > 20 m high, with dark green leaves, pale and hairy below. Leathery. Bark dark and fissured.

6 m high; Tree; Notes: Tree, 6 m tall, riverine. Stems: smooth, grey. New growth velvety. Leaves: with marked pulvinus, sometimes paripinnate, sometimes imparipinnate. Petiole up to 15 cm long, velvety. Rachis velvety. Petiolules thick. Leaflets smooth, dark green above, yellow green and velvety below with marked venation. Fruit: ovoid, green, velvety, with 6 segments demarcated by grooves.

Notes: 1.6 m high. Only 1 fruit.
