Shrub; Notes: Shrub, up to 1.2 meters high. Growing on side of termitaria. Flowers in terminal clusters, white. Fruits when young green, hard. When mature bright orange with distinct fruit, softly fleshy. Area of mopane woodland with scattered termitaria, numerous small pans. Soils largely clays and clay loams, blackish.

Graminoid; Notes: Vegetation type: open scrub. Soil: sandy soil and boulders. Exposure: full sun. On lower bank of river. Lithology: (soil) and quartzite. Slope: moderate. Plant features: leaves pungent, side branches on older culm appear to have been washed by earlier high river level. Common.

Tree; Notes: Tree, up to 4 m high, common. Fruit deep reddish pruple. Bark of branchlets peeling to expose reddish brown under bark. Growing along margin of an old drainage line which is extensively used for agriculture. Extensive area of mixed Burkea - Baikiaea woodland. Soils deep dystrophic sands.
